What a start to the New Year and the first full week for many commuters! Today’s wintery weather and freezing rain made road and driving conditions very dangerous and slippery for many across the metroplex.

It’s important to remember to dress warm and in layers on such days, in case of unforseen emergencies whilst on the road, and it’s a good idea to keep extra blankets in the car just in case. Ensure that you have enough antifreeze in your car  and always check that your tires are in good condition and have enough air.

If you get into an accident, remember to dial 911 and report it to the police, it is a good idea to report the incident to your insurance carrier also. Obtain the relevant information from the other driver: such as name, address, number, driver’s licence number, car licence plate, insurance carrier, policy number and their phone number.

If your condition is critical or you are unable to comfortably make it to our doctors’ office, make your way to the nearest hospital emergency room by ambulance or with a friend or relative. When you are able to contact us, the sooner the better, make your way to our office so we can complete a chiropractic exam and have you started on a treatment and therapy program a.s.a.p. so as to minimise the effects of the accident, whiplash or any other soft tissue, joint or nervous system injury.
